This standing rice paddle from Wahei Freiz is designed to make serving rice easier and cleaner. The scooping surface has a double emboss texture, with fine ridges set on top of a larger textured pattern.
This double emboss design reduces the contact area between the paddle and the rice while helping the surface hold a thin layer of moisture, so rice is less likely to stick to it. The scoop itself is spoon shaped, which lets you serve rice gently without crushing the grains.
The handle also works as its own stand, so the paddle can stand upright on its own without needing a separate rest. This keeps the tip from touching the countertop or table directly, which is more hygienic during cooking.
