This saucepan is made of stainless steel in Tsubame Sanjo, Niigata, as part of the Tsubamesan series that continues the craft heritage of the region's blacksmiths, an area with a long tradition of metalworking that grew into Japan's leading housewares production center.

The deep rim design reduces the risk of boilover when simmering or boiling, so there is no need to add extra water partway through cooking. This lets food cook through faster and finish well in less time.

The saucepan works on both gas stoves and induction (IH) cooktops, and is made in Japan.
