This stainless steel kyusu teapot with a bail handle is part of Wahei Freiz's Tsubamesan series. The body is 18-8 stainless steel finished with a baked-on coating in a deep black.
The Tsubamesan series takes its name from Tsubame-Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture, a region with a long history of metalworking that grew into Japan's leading center for houseware production. The series was created to return to the basics of toolmaking, carrying forward gratitude to earlier craftsmen along with regional pride.
Choose the teapot on its own, or as a set paired with a matching small tea canister finished in the same black coating.
