This rice mold (monogata) is made of 18-8 stainless steel and is designed for shaping rice into a clean, uniform form for bento boxes, sushi, and onigiri. The sturdy stainless steel construction is easy to handle and simple to keep clean.
The outer frame and the press plate are both removable. The frame alone can also be used as a cutting ring for other foods, while the press plate includes a handle that helps you pack rice in evenly without pressing unevenly on one side.
This mold is offered in three traditional shapes: round, pine, and ginkgo leaf, each giving bento lunches a more refined look.
