This Whitesum Miyajima rice paddle is a classic wooden paddle for stirring and serving rice and other foods. It is made from beech wood and is built in the traditional shamoji shape used in Japanese kitchens.
Because it is a natural wood product, keep it out of direct sunlight and away from the dishwasher, air conditioner vents, or other sources of hot air, since fast surface drying can lead to cracking or warping. Always wet the paddle before use. Using it dry against food lets the wood absorb moisture from the food, which can leave stains, so dampening it first also makes the paddle easier to clean.
As with any natural wood item, color, grain, and small surface marks can vary slightly from piece to piece; this does not affect the quality of the paddle.
This paddle is offered in 18 lengths, from 24 cm up to 135 cm, so you can choose the size that best fits your pot, rice cooker, or serving needs.
