This steamer net is designed to fit a seiro steamer basket, replacing a traditional bamboo slat or woven wire insert. It is made from a punched, perforated sheet of 18-8 stainless steel that holds food above the steam while letting steam flow through evenly spaced holes.
Because it is a solid perforated sheet rather than individual wires, there is no risk of a wire breaking loose and ending up in your food. It is made in Japan.
This net is offered in two sizes, Shaku 2-Sun and Shaku 4-Sun, so you can match it to your seiro.
