This round plate from Yamako is made of hinoki cypress wood and finished with a two-step coating process. An undercoat first strengthens the wood from the inside, and after sanding, a matte "Super Fine" topcoat is applied over it, giving the plate a durable finish that guards the wood both inside and out. This differs from ordinary wood coatings, which only form a protective film on the surface.
This plate is offered in two sizes, small and large.
Made in Japan.
