This rice shaper from Yamako is made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood and presses cooked rice into a decorative shape, suited to bento boxes and other rice presentations. Fill the shaper with warm cooked rice, press it in firmly, and turn it out to get a clean, consistent shape every time.

Hinoki wood is known to become more comfortable to use the more it is handled, developing a smoother feel over time with regular use.

We offer this shaper in five shapes: maple leaf, fan, cherry blossom, plum, and gourd.
