Yamako Sawara Wood Box-Type Sliding Lid with Stainless Insert 9-Sun 05453

This is a box-type sliding lid with a stainless steel insert for Yamako's Ozashiki Seiro tabletop steaming set, made from sawara cypress wood and stainless steel and sized for a 9-sun steamer. The lid slides open and closed, and its interior recess measures 370 x 370 x 30 mm (14.6 x 14.6 x 1.2 in) deep.

Steaming is said to help retain the natural nutrients in food, keeping fish and meat tender while serving the meal warm, a healthy way to cook. This Ozashiki Seiro set is designed for induction (IH) cooktops only; because the wood can catch fire, it should not be used over an open flame.

This lid weighs 2.5 kg (5.5 lb) and is made in Japan, model number 05453.
