Yamako Sawara Wood Ozashiki Seiro Base Stand 9-Sun 05454

This base stand is the foot that supports Yamako's Ozashiki Seiro tabletop steaming set, made from sawara cypress wood and sized for a 9-sun steamer. It raises the steamer body off the table for serving.

Steaming is said to help retain the natural nutrients in food, keeping fish and meat tender while serving the meal warm, a healthy way to cook. This Ozashiki Seiro set is designed for induction (IH) cooktops only; because the wood can catch fire, it should not be used over an open flame.

This base stand measures 37 x 37 x 4.3 cm (14.6 x 14.6 x 1.7 in) and weighs 2.5 kg (5.5 lb). It is made in Japan, model number 05454.
