Yamako Sawara Wood Ozashiki Seiro Sun Lid 8-Sun 20175

This sun lid is the wooden cover for Yamako's Ozashiki Seiro tabletop steaming set, made from sawara cypress wood and sized for an 8-sun steamer. It sits on top of the steamer body to hold in steam while food cooks.

Steaming is said to help retain the natural nutrients in food, keeping fish and meat tender while serving the meal warm, a healthy way to cook. This Ozashiki Seiro set is designed for induction (IH) cooktops only; because the wood can catch fire, it should not be used over an open flame.

This lid measures 27.3 x 27.3 x 3.7 cm (10.7 x 10.7 x 1.5 in) and weighs 2.5 kg (5.5 lb). It is made in Japan, model number 20175.
