The slicer is made by Akebono Sangyo, a kitchenware maker based in Tsubame, Niigata, known for convenient microwave cookware and other practical kitchen ideas. It combines an AS resin body, a silicone rubber spring, and a stainless steel blade, measures 23.8 x 4.1 x 1.4 cm (9.4 x 1.6 x 0.6 in), and weighs 36 g (1.3 oz / 0.08 lb). It is made in Japan.
