This slicer cuts long green onions (naganegi) into thin diagonal slices quickly and in volume. It comes with a dedicated safety holder for the onion, so you can slice safely and securely.
To use it, set the safety holder in place, then hold the onion against the slicer blade and slide it back and forth. It works well in recipes such as negi shabu-shabu hot pot and negi ramen.
Not counting the holder, the slicer measures about 270 mm (10.6 in) long and weighs about 45 g (1.6 oz). The body is made of AS resin, the spring is silicone rubber, and the blade is stainless steel.
