Honma Fuyuji Benkei 18-8 Stainless Steel Deep Colander 27.5cm HF-14

Benkei is a line of kitchen tools made by Honma Fuyuji Kogyo, a metal housewares manufacturer in the Tsubame area of Niigata, Japan that builds commercial grade tools meant to be used for years.

This deep colander is a versatile tool for washing rice, draining vegetables, and other kitchen tasks. The rim is made from a thick stainless steel band so the wire mesh will not pull loose, and the frame is spin-formed for extra strength and a longer service life. The mesh is a 12/11 mesh weave with openings of about 1.62 mm (0.1 in), and the reinforcing wire is flat so it will not dig into your hands. Because it is made of 18-8 (18% chromium, 8% nickel) stainless steel, it can be rinsed with boiling water, resists rust, and stays easy to keep clean.

This 27.5 cm (10.8 in) size measures about 32.5 x 29.5 x 22 cm (12.8 x 11.6 x 8.7 in) and weighs about 600 g (21.2 oz).
