Honma Fuyuji Benkei 18-8 Stainless Steel Deep Colander 37.5cm HF-18

Benkei is a line of kitchen tools made by Honma Fuyuji Kogyo, a metal housewares manufacturer in the Tsubame area of Niigata, Japan that builds commercial grade tools meant to be used for years.

This deep colander is a versatile tool for washing rice, draining vegetables, and other kitchen tasks. The rim is made from a thick stainless steel band so the wire mesh will not pull loose, and the frame is spin-formed for extra strength and a longer service life. The mesh is an 11 mesh weave with openings of about 1.81 mm (0.1 in), and the reinforcing wire is flat so it will not dig into your hands. Because it is made of 18-8 (18% chromium, 8% nickel) stainless steel, it can be rinsed with boiling water, resists rust, and stays easy to keep clean.

This 37.5 cm (14.8 in) size measures about 37.5 x 37.5 x 25 cm (14.8 x 14.8 x 9.8 in) and weighs about 1.1 kg (2.3 lb).
