This cutting board is an original design from Koyanagi Sangyo, made in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata, a town known for metalworking.
It is made of Magnolia wood, a fine-grained, springy wood that holds natural oils and drains water well, so it dries quickly after washing. The same wood is sometimes used to make xylophones, which gives this board its pleasant knocking sound when you chop on it. It carries a branded stamp reading made in Tsubame-Sanjo, so we suggest using the front and back sides for different purposes. The board measures 42 x 21 x 2.4 cm (16.5 x 8.3 x 0.9 in) and weighs 1 kg (2.2 lb).
