This ProGrade julienne peeler makes thick strips of carrot, daikon and similar vegetables, and is well suited to the Okinawan dish shirishiri. Simply draw it along the vegetable to get evenly sized strips with a cut width of about 5 mm (0.2 in).
Each tooth of the comb blade is sharpened by hand by craftsmen, so it bites into food well and cuts with light pressure. The gently curved handle fits the hand for a secure grip.
The all-stainless construction resists rust and stays clean. It is dishwasher safe and made in Japan.
