This ceramic grater from Wahei Freiz is designed for grating ginger and other spices. Because the grating surface is porcelain rather than metal, it does not pick up odors or discoloration, and it will not give food a metallic taste or smell, so the flavor of what you grate comes through.
Food fibers do not cling easily to the surface, which makes the grater easier to rinse clean after use. The underside has a silicone rubber pad that keeps the grater from slipping and helps protect countertops from scratches.
