Hasegawa Plastic Makisu Sushi Rolling Mat S Beige

This is a makisu, a sushi rolling mat from Hasegawa used for rolling sushi such as makizushi and similar rolled dishes. It is made from polypropylene rods strung together with a PET resin monofilament thread, so there are no knots along the mat, which lets rice and moisture drain off more easily while you roll.

The mat is heat resistant up to 120 degrees Celsius (248 degrees Fahrenheit) and can be rinsed in hot water after use. Avoid using it as a trivet or placing it near an open flame, since this can warp the rods or break the thread, and avoid cleaning it with a metal scouring pad or metal brush, which can scratch the rods or cut the thread.

This mat measures 25 x 16.5 cm (9.8 x 6.5 in) and weighs 110 g (3.9 oz).
