This soba serving box (soba mori oke) from Shimizu Mokuzai is made of sawara cypress and finished with wiped urushi lacquer, giving it a refined, high quality look. Serving noodles in a wooden box like this brings a traditional Japanese atmosphere to the table.
Each piece is carefully finished by hand by a craftsman. The box measures 24 x 24 x 6.5 cm (9.4 x 9.4 x 2.6 in).
We recommend it for serving chilled mori soba, and it works well for udon too. Made in Japan.
