This Full Veggie Smile slicer from Shimomura Kogyo cuts thick julienne strips quickly and smoothly. It is made for carrot shirishiri, the Okinawan stir-fried carrot dish, and also works well for sasagaki shaved vegetables and kinpira dishes.
The slicer produces strips about 6 mm (0.2 in) wide. A notch on the frame lets you rest it securely on the rim of a bowl, so the cut vegetables fall straight in while you work.
The blade is 18-8 stainless steel and the frame is polypropylene. It is dishwasher safe for easy cleanup. Made in Japan.
