This free glass is handcrafted Edo glass from the Yachiyo kiln in Shimousa. A craftsman wraps thin rods of colored glass and gold leaf around clear glass and then blows it into shape by hand, creating a rich depth of color and a gold leaf pattern that gains more character the more it is used.

It is made using the traditional Edo glass technique, which has been designated a national traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and it comes in a dedicated gift box, making it a nice gift for someone special.

The glass measures about 8.3 x 8.3 x 8.1 cm (3.3 x 3.3 x 3.2 in) and holds 260 ml (8.8 fl oz), weighing 180 g (6.3 oz). Because each piece is handmade, shape, size, weight, capacity, and color can vary slightly from piece to piece. Made in Japan from semi-red crystal.
