This Edo glass tokkuri (sake flask) is handcrafted at the Yachiyo kiln in Japan's old Shimousa region. An artisan winds thin strands of colored glass and gold leaf around clear glass, then shapes the piece by hand-blowing, resulting in a deep color and a look of luxury from the gold leaf, with a handmade warmth that develops with use.

It carries on the traditional Edo glass craftsmanship recognized by Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. The flask comes in a dedicated gift box, making it a nice gift for a special person.

It measures 17.5 x 7.5 x 7.5 cm (6.9 x 3 x 3 in) and holds about 300 ml (10.1 fl oz). Because each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape, size, weight, capacity, and color may occur.
