This set pairs a Tsubamesan yukihira pan with a two-handle pot, both made of stainless steel in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata, the area that grew from Muromachi-era blacksmithing into Japan's leading housewares region. The Tsubamesan series was created to carry on that craft heritage.

The yukihira pan measures 33 x 17.5 x 9 cm (13 x 6.9 x 3.5 in), weighs 370 g (13.1 oz / 0.82 lb), and holds 1.4 liters (1.5 qt), a convenient size for small batches of soup, dashi, or sauces.
