Shimomura Full Veggie Goya Bitter Melon and Shirishiri Slicer

This slicer is part of Shimomura Kogyo's Full Veggie series, a line of kitchen tools designed to make specific vegetable prep tasks quicker and easier. It has two cutting sides so you can switch between a thin slice and a thicker julienne cut.

The slicing side cuts goya (bitter melon) thin enough to keep its characteristic texture, and it also works well for cutting daikon or turnip into thin slices for senmaizuke-style pickles. The julienne side cuts vegetables into thicker strips, which is useful for carrot shirishiri or sasagaki-style cuts.

A holder is included to protect your fingers while you work through the vegetable. It measures about 26.5 x 9 x 1.3 cm (10.4 x 3.5 x 0.5 in), weighs 110 g (3.9 oz / 0.24 lb), and is made in Japan.
