This tamagoyaki pan from Tanabe Kanagu is made of nitrided iron, a heat treatment that infuses nitrogen into the iron to strengthen its surface. Nitrided iron resists warping, scratching, rust, and sticking, and because the iron itself is transformed rather than coated, the surface will not flake off with use. Once the pan has been through an initial oil seasoning, it is ready for regular use.

Shaped for Japanese-style rolled omelette, it heats evenly so the tamagoyaki cooks through without uneven or burnt spots. The handle is natural walnut wood with an octagonal shape that is easy to grip, finished with a clear urethane coating, and a ring on the handle lets the pan hang on a wall or hook. The pan works on all heat sources, including induction (IH).

It measures about 19.4 x 14.5 x 3.5 cm (7.6 x 5.7 x 1.4 in) and weighs about 810 g (28.6 oz / 1.79 lb).

This pan carries the Made in Tsubame mark, which promises that the product was carefully made with the customer in mind, for quality and peace of mind.
