Wahei Freiz Non-Stick Rice Paddle 36cm KR-6985

This rice paddle has a double embossed surface: raised bumps across the paddle plus finer ridges on top of them. The texture reduces the contact area between the paddle and the rice and helps the rice hold onto more moisture, so grains are less likely to stick to the paddle.

This is especially helpful with sticky dishes made from glutinous rice, such as sekihan (red rice with azuki beans) and gomoku gohan (mixed rice). Because rice does not stick easily, cleanup after use is also easier. The paddle measures 35.8 x 9.8 x 1.9 cm (14.1 x 3.9 x 0.7 in) and weighs 85 g (3 oz / 0.19 lb).
