This slicer and grater combination tool is part of Shimomura Kogyo's Ajiwai Shokubo ECO series, a line built around the future of the natural environment. The resin body blends in plant-based biomass plastic made from molasses, a byproduct left over after sugar is extracted from sugarcane, so it replaces some petroleum-based plastic and helps reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

One board handles two jobs: grate on one side, and flip it over to slice food about 1 mm (0.04 in) thick on the other side. It also includes a small garnish grater section for grating ginger and similar ingredients. The tool is dishwasher safe.

It measures 24.7 x 9.8 x 3.8 cm (9.7 x 3.9 x 1.5 in) and weighs about 68 g (2.4 oz / 0.15 lb). Made in Japan.
