Shimomura Pro Grade Speed Grater with Container and Colander PG-634

This grater from Shimomura Kogyo's Pro Grade line is designed for smooth, fine grating of vegetables such as daikon radish. The blade is thinned and then sharpened, cutting through the fibers of the food as it grates for a smooth finish.

Grating in a straight up-and-down motion gives a coarser, crunchier texture, while a circular motion produces a finer, fluffier texture, so one grater gives two different results depending on how you use it. The container is molded with a slight slope so it is easy to hold at a comfortable angle while grating, and it comes with a colander insert that lets you drain off excess liquid right away.

The grater measures 29 x 10 x 7.5 cm (11.4 x 3.9 x 3 in) and weighs 234 g (8.3 oz / 0.52 lb).
